Anti-Ragging & Grievance Redressal
The College maintains statutory cells to keep the campus safe, fair, and stress-free for every student. Summaries are below; the full grievance policy is on the Downloads page.
Statutory Cell
Anti-Ragging Cell
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and is a punishable offence. Under the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999, it can attract imprisonment of up to two years and/or a fine of up to ₹10,000. In line with the UGC Regulations, 2009, offenders may additionally face:
- rustication and debarment from admission to any other institution;
- debarment from examinations and withholding of results;
- withdrawal of scholarship or fellowship;
- expulsion from the hostel.
An Anti-Ragging Squad runs awareness drives, displays notices across the campus, and makes surprise checks of areas vulnerable to ragging. Every student and parent submits an anti-ragging undertaking at the time of admission.
Statutory Cell
Grievance Redressal Cell
The College operates a Grievance Redressal Cell with a well-established, fair procedure for grievances relating to academic matters, hostel accommodation, health services, library, transport, and other central services. The cell aims to:
- encourage students to express their grievances freely and frankly;
- address boarders' concerns about the mess and other amenities;
- promote healthy student–student and student–teacher relationships;
- maintain a conducive, unprejudiced educational environment;
- uphold the dignity of the college and a stress-free atmosphere.
Suggestion boxes are placed at the Principal's office, Library, Science Building, Humanities Building, and Ladies Room, and are opened regularly so that concerns are resolved in the cell's meetings.
